Stumpwater Pottery is located in historic Sutter Creek, nestled in the beautiful rolling hills of the gold country. Stumpwater Pottery specializes in hand made functional pottery. Pottery is shaped by hand and high fired to be functional as well as durable. Pottery styles are continually being developed, improved and modified so check the web sight for the latest additions.
The Potter
Founded in 2016 by Tab & Charlene Stiles who had a dream and a vision, with the help of friends and fellow potters they were able to establish a fully functioning studio. The studio is ever evolving to meet production demands. Tab and Charlene are passionate about turning clay into functional pieces that will be used in your home. We are constantly continuing our education and experimentation to create new and fresh ideas.
The Studio
The studio is nestled in the beautiful California foothills gold country. The studio functions for both wheel throwing and hand building. Stumpwater Pottery uses durable high fire porcelain and an assortment of stoneware clays. At Stumpwater Pottery we use no commercial glazes, each of our glazes are produced on site using raw materials that are safe for functional use.
